Awwal 02, 1432, April 06, 2011, SPA -- U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will be in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to discuss with United States officials the work of the United Nations in a number of critical areas, his spokesperson announced today. Ban traveled to the U.S. capital in late February, when he held talks with President Barack Obama on the situation in Libya. During this week's visit, he expects to meet with key legislators in the Senate and the House of Representatives, including members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, UN spokesperson Martin Nesirky told reporters. The Secretary-General will also meet with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
