U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will visit Haiti on Sunday to meet with leaders there and to assess recovery efforts two months after the devastating January 12 earthquake. The United Nations' headquarters was destroyed in the massive earthquake, and the head of its mission there, Tunisian diplomat Hedi Anabi, was killed. Ban Ki-moon, will visit the capital, Port-au-Prince, and meet with Haitian President Rene Preval and Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive, U.N. spokesman Martin Nesirky said on Friday. “The secretary-general will also visit a camp for internally displaced persons and engage directly with Haitians still suffering the debilitating consequences of the earthquake,” Nesirky said.
