Awwal 01, 1432, April 05, 2011, SPA -- Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva began a visit Tuesday to bolster bilateral trade, officials said. India-Thai trade has grown six fold over the past decade to $6.6 billion in 2010, but "there is still a lot of untapped potential in trade and economic ties, and that is what both sides seek to harness," Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA". The main talks, led by Vejjajiva and his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh were scheduled in the evening, officials said. Defence cooperation and cultural and educational exchanges would be focus areas in the Singh-Vejjajiva talks, officials said. Vejjajiva, on his first visit to India, was to participate in a business summit organized by Indian industry and was due to meet Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari.
