Akhir 23, 1432 / March 28, 2011, SPA -- The election of Kosovo's president last month was unconstitutional, the country's constitutional court ruled Monday following complaints from opposition parties, according to dpa. Behgjet Pacolli was elected via a vote in the Kosovo Assembly on February 22, but the Supreme Court ruled that irregularities in the procedures made the process invalid. Pacolli, 59, failed to win a sufficient majority in the first ballot. However, a pause was then allowed in the process, after which the multi-millionaire businessman managed a small majority. The opposition have claimed pressure was exerted during the pause in a bid to get Pacolli to elected.
