Akhir 01, 1432, March 06, 2011, SPA -- India Sunday successfully tested an indigenously developed interceptor missile that is capable of destroying ballistic missiles, a defence official said. The interceptor hit a short-range ballistic missile fired from a separate test range off the coast of the eastern state of Orissa, defence spokesman Sitanshu Kar said. The interceptor missile has been developed by India as part of a multi-layer ballistic missile shield, according to a report of PTI quoted by DPA.
