A military test of India's interceptor missile drew a blank Monday, after the target missile went off course and failed to trigger the interceptor's radar, defense sources were quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA". "The coordinated exercise between target missile and the interceptor could not take place properly during the planned trial," the sources said. The indigenously developed Advanced Air Defense (AAD) interceptor missile is part of the multi-layer ballistic missile defense system that India has been developing for over a decade. The test of the missile, designed to destroy hostile ballistic missiles at low-altitude trajectories, had been postponed from Sunday due to technical problems, the sources said.
