Awwal 29, 1432 H/March 4, 2011, SPA -- Twenty-seven North Koreans whose boat drifted into southern waters were left waiting Friday near a border village after North Korean officials didn't show up to bring them home, as AP reported. The North asked South Korean liaison officials in a phone call to wait for further communication but provided no other details about its intentions. It earlier reacted with fury when the South said four other members of the group wanted to stay in South Korea. South Korea's Unification Ministry said 18 women and nine men from the boat were waiting near the village of Panmunjom in the Demilitarized Zone.
