Awwal 06, 1432, Feb 09, 2011, SPA -- South Korea says North Korean military officers abruptly walked out of a meeting at the Demilitarized Zone with their South Korean counterparts. The cause of the rupture on the second day of talks Wednesday was not immediately clear. The meetings were the first official talks since the North's deadly artillery barrage of a front-line South Korean island in November. The South's Defense Ministry said the North delegates got up and walked out of their meeting in Panmunjom, inside the heavily fortified buffer zone. There had been high hopes the Koreas would agree on details for holding their first high-level defense talks in more than three years, according to a report of the Associated Press.
