Awwal 26, 1432 H/March 1, 2011, SPA -- Speaking before the Human Rights Council in Geneva, an affiliate of the United Nations, Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, President of the Saudi Human Rights Commission, said Saudi Arabia is currently introducing a package of reforms in different fields. He cited, the judicial field, political system, economic sector, improving governmental performance, corruption combat, enhancement of principles of national dialogue, support and enhancement of human rights, participation of women, enacting new laws to protect women, and achieve the welfare of Saudi citizens. Al-Aiban noted that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has laid the foundation for the new renaissance in the Kingdom within a framework of a gradual and balanced development that matches with the aspirations of the society and the Islamic Sharia law. He said Saudi Arba has adopted a clear policy based on tolerance and dialogue with the followers of civilizations and cultures, citing the King's initiative for dialogue among followers of religions and cultures and the convening of a number of symposia, meetings and conferences in the world.
