Awwal 14, 1432 H/Feb 17, 2011, SPA -- King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain received here tonight the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the six-member organization's Secretary General, here to convoke an extraordinary session. The audience was attended by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Commander-in-chief of Bahrain's Defense Force. The ministers conveyed to the King of Bahrain the greetings of the GCC leaders, wishing him continuous health and his country steady progress, security and stability. For his part, the monarch thanked the ministers for holding the extraordinary meeting today in Bahrain, lauding their final communiqué which confirmed that GCC countries are bound by firm and historical ties and share the same position to face challenges. The King of Bahrain sent his greetings to his colleagues the leaders of the GCC countries.
