Awwal 14, 1432 H/Feb 17, 2011, SPA -- A military spokesman in Tanzania says there is only one known casualty from the explosions that rocked the country's capital after an accident at a military base ammunition depot, as AP reported. Military spokesman Lt. Col. Kapambala Mgawe said some buildings remained on fire early Thursday from the hours-long blasts that began after nightfall Wednesday. Mgawa said one soldier was wounded, and that the military is «very, very lucky» casualties don't appear to be higher. Mgawa says he is still seeking information on possible casualties. The explosions happened at the Gongola Mboto military base in Dar es Salaam near the city's international airport. Residents across the city felt vibrations from the blasts, and debris rained down over the city.
