Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asked Premier Salam Fayyad to form a new government to provide the requirements for presidential, legislative and local elections. The Palestinian President stressed that the new government should focus on the mobilization of all potentials to strengthen the preparedness of national institutions for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine. Earlier today, President Abbas accepted the resignation of the Government of Premier Fayyad.
