Awwal 07, 1432, Feb 10, 2011, SPA -- The Saudi Moroccan Joint Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, co-chaired by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Altayeb Al-Fasi Al-Fihri, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco, started in Rabat today its 11th session. Addressing the meeting, Prince Saud Al-Faisal, expressed thanks for the Moroccan side for warm reception and generous hospitality. He said "the continuation of the committee to meet for 11 consecutive times so far reflects the deep-rooted relations binding the two countries upon the instructions of the leaders of the two counties: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco in all fields. Prince Saud Al-Faisal called for exploiting the opportunities created by the worldwide economic openness to increase Inter-Arab trade size from 12 percent to higher rates, noting that Arab trade with European Union jumped to about 63 percent in the last few years. He said this year's session would focus on the role of businessmen and businesswomen in the two countries in their capacity as the cornerstone of development, taking into consideration the vast investment opportunities and economic capabilities in the two countries. He urged the conferees to discuss why the trade size between the two countries dropped from SR9 billion in 2008 to SR5 billion in 2009. --More
