White House proposes unemployment aid for states

Awwal 05, 1432 H/Feb 08, 2011, SPA -- The White House said on Tuesday President Barack Obama would propose giving financial relief to U.S. states struggling with high unemployment insurance debt.
"The president's proposal ... prevents increases in the federal tax that goes to the unemployment insurance fund," Reuters quoted White House spokesman Robert Gibbs as saying.
