Awwal 02, 1432, Feb 05, 2011, SPA -- Speaker of Somalia's Parliament Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan affirmed last night that the House of Representatives voted to extend their mandate for an additional period of three years. He told reporters in Mogadishu that the extension period will last from August this year until August 2014 without a repeat of an extension period. The mandate of the Transitional Federal Government was scheduled to end later this year, but the House of representatives voted to give themselves more time to establish order in the state after the African Union also gave the signal to approve the extension period over the weekend.
