Awwal 01, 1432, Feb 04, 2011, SPA -- The director of an international journalists rights group says a document released by Romanian authorities calling media a potential threat to national security is «unacceptable.» AP reported. International Federation of Journalists general secretary Aidan White said Friday in Bucharest the initiative is a breach of human rights and freedom of speech. Last year, Romania's Supreme Defense Council sent a document to Parliament outlining risks and threats to national security. Among threats such as terrorism, organized crime and tax evasion, it said: «orchestrated media campaigns that denigrate state institutions by disseminating false information» could also be considered a threat to security. Parliament has not voted yet on the document. -- SPA
