Officials say two people have died and one is reported missing in new floods and mudslides in northeastern Sri Lanka just weeks after 44 people were killed by heavy rains. The Disaster Management Center said Wednesday that more than 2,200 people have been forced from their homes by two days of floods. It said one person drowned and another died after being buried in a mudslide. The government says the displaced people are being housed in 13 temporary camps. More than a million people were affected by floods and mudslides caused by days of rain in January, according to a report of the Associated Press.
