Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono stressed today the importance of international cooperation to correct global economic imbalances and speed up reforms in the financial sector and international financial institutions. In an address at the World Economic Forum meetings in Davos and broadcast in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta today, he said "It must be international cooperation to overcome these imbalances," stressing the need for a financial global safety-net as a defense so that the world would be able to deal with enough flexibility with respect to any potential economic crisis in the future. The Indonesian President also highlighted his country's experience in the process of economic growth.
