Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono officially opened here today the 5th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) which will run until Tuesday (Mar 3), ANTARA reported. The theme of the Fifth WIEF is "Food and Energy Resilience, Stemming the Global Financial Economic Crisis." In his speech on the occasion, the President called on all Muslim countries to cooperate to find way out of the current global economic crisis and to advance the life of Muslims in the world. With appropriate policies, the crisis could be dealt with and with hard work, the crisis could be changed into an opportunity, he said. Yudhoyono proposed that rich Muslim countries in possession of great amounts of foreign exchange reserves assist fellow Muslim others by investing in those with agrarian economies.
