Under-graduate schools in Jeddah Province will be closed for one week, effective tomorrow, a statement said here today. The spokesman of the Ministry of Education Mohammed bin Saad Al-Dakheeni said, in a statement, that, after having been briefed by head departments of the Ministry's Jeddah branch based on recommendations of the principals of schools and parents of the students, the Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud ordered that study in government and private schools be suspended for one week, effective Saturday January 29. The instructions also said female and male teachers are not required to attend meanwhile. During the extraordinary recess, damaged schools due to this week's heavy rainfall and floods will be repaired and maintained, the statement added.
