A circular has been distributed to girls' schools instructing teachers to stop making unnecessary demands in pupil's materials. Othman Abdul Jabbar, Education Undersecretary for Girls' Education, said that students asked to bring to class extra-curricular materials should go to the principal, noting that a list of required materials is given to every student. Abdul Jabbar said that the organizing of pupil requirements is carried out through the principal or her assistant. The Ministry for Civil Service will complete teacher-candidate procedures for obtaining graduation papers within the next few weeks, with the names of 4,000 teachers having already been announced. Jabbar also addressed the absence of teachers in some schools, saying there should be ample coverage as every teacher has 7 official vacations and every school is provided with two substitutes. – Okaz __
