The UN Security Council on Friday called for the Nepalese government and Maoists to expeditiously resolve outstanding issues in the peace process as the UN mission was completing its withdrawal from the country, according to dpa. Karin Landgren, the UN special representative and chief of the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN), officiated earlier Friday at the UN flag lowering ceremony in Kathmandu, according to the European Pressphoto Agency (epa). "The Security Council encourages Nepal to complete its new constitution within the foreseen time frame to help it build faster a better, more equitable and democratic future for its people," the council said in a statement.
