Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Region, held a press conference at his residence in Jeddah today to highlight the latest developments regarding heavy rains on the region on Wednesday and Thursday. The conference was attended by Prince Mishaal bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah Province, and senior officials. Prince Khalid Al-Faisal gave a technical report on the raining and its effect on people, homes and buildings under construction. He said the highest rain level reached 50 mm, killing one man and three children in Sharaea Al-Nakhal district on the outskirts of the city of Makkah, seriously injuring a security man and damaging a number of homes in Al-Sawaed and Umaal Khair Jeddah neighborhoods. He paid tribute to the Civil Defense squads for salvaging 200 people in a number of Jeddah districts and controlling the situation.
