Chaos continued to reign at Moscow airports Monday as snowy conditions and icy roads colluded to disrupt traffic, dpa reported. At least 7,000 passengers were stranded at Russia's Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow's north-west, waiting for their departures. Between that airport and the city's Domodedovo airport, where power failed on Sunday after freezing rain, more than 200 flights faced delays. The mood among the stranded travelers was "explosive" witnesses told the Ria Novosti news agency. Passengers have threatened airline crew and demanded a meeting with the airport's management, said a spokesman from Sheremetyevo. A further gate had been blocked by enraged passengers. A third airport in the city, Vnukowo, was reporting no problems.
