Construction works on the Sharjah central public transport station are expected to commence in mid-2012, Abdul Al Zari, Director of Sharjah Transport, has disclosed. He said the central terminal project is part of Sharjah Transport's strategy to provide efficient, safe, and comfortable encompassing transportation solutions services that fulfill the needs of citizens, residents and visitors within a comprehensive system, using modern transportation and commuting approaches, founded upon latest rules, legislation and strategic partnerships. Al Zari made his remarks during a meeting with the Spanish Engineering Consultancy Office which was tasked with designing the passenger terminal at the Union Square. The meeting reviewed findings of a traffic study and their impact on the design of the station, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM."
