Twenty four children were evacuated from the social shelter where a fire broke out, the head of the press service of the Emergencies Ministry's Moscow department, Yevgeny Bobylev, told Itar-Tass. The blaze broke out in the basement of the two-storey building at Narodnogo Opolcheniya Street, the northwest of Moscow, on Saturday afternoon. The evacuated children are in ambulances now. A special bus specially provided by the Mosgortrans state-run transport company is expected to arrive soon to carry the children to the nearby school where they will be accommodated, Bobylev said. A man, supposedly a guard, died in the fire. Firemen are working at the site. There is heavy smoke in all the premises. The source of the fire is not found yet, a city law-enforcement source told Itar-Tass.
