A total of 169 patients, including 45 bed patients, were evacuated from a regional hospital in the Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk where a fire broke out late on Sunday. Nobody was injured, Itar-Tass reported. The fire in the ground floor was put out in 40 minutes. Fifty firemen participated in putting out the fire. Nobody was injured, the regional centre of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations said. The automatic fire alarm system promptly reacted to the blaze. Fire brigades prevented the fire and smoke from spreading to other sections of the hospital compound. No patients were evacuated from other buildings. All in all, there were 682 patients in the hospital at the moment. Hospital wards and other premises were left without electricity as a result of the fire. Specialists are looking into the reason behind the incident.
