Aqsa Mosque in Al-Haram Al-Sharif compound. The Group also deplored the occupying Power's continued closure of Palestinian institutions in East Jerusalem and the imposition of severe restrictions to movement that have isolated the Holy City from the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The OIC Group reaffirmed that Al-Quds Al-Sharif, which is the central cause of the OIC and the entire Islamic Ummah, remained an integral part of the Palestinian Territory occupied by Israel since 1967, whose illegal annexation by Israel has been rejected and remained unrecognized by the international community. The OIC Group called on the international community to act urgently to compel Israel, the occupying Power, to immediately cease its illegal actions and measures as well as its incessant tampering with or attempts to alter Palestinian religious or heritage sites, especially in and around Occupied East Jerusalem. The OIC Group stressed that the Israel's illegal settlement campaign remained the major obstacle to peace, undermining all international and regional efforts, including those exerted by the United States of America, the Quartet as a whole and the League of Arab States as well as by the rest of the international community to advance the peace process. Such actions rose serious questions regarding Israel's alleged commitment to the peace process on the basis of the two-State solution based on the 4 June 1967 borders, and confirmed Israel's blatant contempt for the law and the agreed terms of reference and principles of the peace process. Moreover, this illegal, aggressive policy was destroying the prospects for achieving the two-State solution as it caused grave harm to the situation on the ground, impairing the contiguity, integrity, unity and viability of the Palestinian Territory, and threatened to further destabilize the region, endangering international peace and security. The OIC Group reiterated its demand that Israel, the occupying Power, comply with its obligations under the Fourth Geneva Convention, relevant United Nations resolutions, the ICJ Advisory Opinion and the Quartet Roadmap. The occupying Power must completely cease forthwith all settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem. The international consensus in this regard must not waver. All efforts must be undertaken by the international community to uphold responsibilities in this regard, including by the Security Council and the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to end Israel's impunity and compel it to abide by all of its legal obligations. The OIC Group stressed its support for the realization of the two-State solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the basis of the pre-1967 borders, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions, the Madrid terms of reference, including the principle of land for peace, the Arab Peace Initiative and the Quartet Roadmap. The OIC Group thus reaffirmed its unwavering calls for a complete end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian and Arab territories that began in 1967 and the exercise by the Palestinian people of their inalienable rights, including their right to self-determination and freedom in their independent State of Palestine, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. The OIC Group decided to remain seized of this matter.
