Areesh, Egypt, 10 Muharram 1432 H./ 16 December 2010, SPA -- AGFUND's medical assistance for Gaza Strip people reached the Egyptian port of Al-Areesh today, the third batch of humanitarian assistance presented by Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of AGFUND to Gazanians under the supervision of Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz. The consignment, partly sent to Gaza Strip, consists of 63 tons of medical equipment, medicine and appliances designated for Gaza hospitals and health care centers. Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz and Egyptian and Palestinian officials received the shipment at Al-Areesh port. In a statement to reporters, Prince Turki bin Talal paid tribute to the Saudi companies which welcomed the initiative and participated in the campaign to alleviate the sufferings of Palestinian people. For his part, Dr. Mid-hat Abbas, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health of Palestine, expressed thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the assistance it was extending to Palestinian people. He confirmed that this humanitarian assistance would cover the medical needs in Gaza Strip for no less than four months.
