A fire at a campground in northeastern Maryland killed two adults and two children, UPI quoted a state fire marshal as saying. The adults were believed to be in their 20s and the children 8 years and 4 months old, Deputy Marshal Bruce Bouch told The Washington Post. The cause of the fire was not yet known, and the victims have not been positively identified. The fire was reported around 2 a.m. Saturday at Indian Acres in Earleville, about 80 miles northeast of Washington. The four victims, who seemed to be related, were trapped inside an 8-by-16-foot camper enclosed by a wood frame structure intended as additional living space, Bouch said. The family may have been making their home there. One man escaped but appeared to be in shock, Bouch said. He said the incident brought the number of fire deaths in Maryland this year to 60.
