OIC Tourism Ministers in Tehran Initiate "OIC City of Tourism Award" 2 Jeddah

tourism partnership and cooperation as an emerging component of tourism among the OIC Member States and endorsed the establishment of an open-ended working group to consider the issue and to submit an appropriate proposal on it to the 8th Session of the ICTM which will be hosted by the Republic of Sudan in 2012.
The Ministers also elected the new bureau of the ICTM which comprises Iran as chairman, Algeria, Senegal and Palestine as members and Syria as Rapporteur.
It is worth mentioning that the ministerial meeting was preceded by a two-day long meeting of the Senior Officials on 28 and 29 November 2010 which received reports of the OIC General Secretariat, the various focal points and OIC institutions on the implementation of the OIC Framework Document on Tourism adopted in 2008.
