Hijjah 21, 1431, Nov 27, 2010 -- Saudi Aramco won the 2010 Energy Company of the Year Award, and president and CEO Khalid A. Al-Falih received the Executive of the Year Award as the most distinguished CEO in the oil industry world-wide during the 14th Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2010), which concluded its deliberations recently in Abu Dhabi. Also, GigaPOWERS™ was named the Best Innovation or Technology of the Year. Finance senior vice president Abdullatif A. Al-Othman accepted the first two awards on behalf of president and CEO Khalid A. Al-Falih. “These awards are attributed and dedicated to the employees of Saudi Aramco,” Al-Othman said, crediting them with a continued “journey of excellence” that has led to the company being seen worldwide as a reliable, safe source of energy for the world. “2010 was certainly the year for GigaPOWERS,” said Samer S. AlAshgar, manager of the EXPEC Advanced Research Center. “From the time it was launched in January throughout the year, the team has achieved accomplishment after accomplishment in implementing new features and deploying this next generation simulator to our fields. For the team's hard work to be so significantly recognized by the industry is the greatest compliment,” according to a latest report carried by Saudi Aramco's web-site.
