Hijjah 19, 1431/November 25, 2010, SPA -- Seven people were killed and three seriously injured when a Russian transport helicopter burst into flames on approach for landing in Siberia, emergency services said Thursday, according to dpa. The seven dead were passengers onboard the Mil Mi-8 helicopter, which went down in the Omsk region, in south-western Siberia. The injured were crew members, rescue workers told Russia's Interfax news agency. The cause of the incident was unclear. The helicopter, which belonged to a maintenance company in Novosibirsk, Russia's third-largest city, was on its way to an oil field.
