Final results for Afghanistan's parliamentary polls due Wednesday

Hijjah, 1431/Nov. 23, 2010, SPA -- Afghanistan's election body is to announce Wednesday the final results of September's parliamentary polls, an official
said Tuesday.
"We will announce the final results tomorrow in a press
conference," dpa quoted Noor Mohammed Ahmed Noor, spokesman for the Independent
Election Commission (IEC) as saying.
More than 2,500 candidates, including over 400 women, vied for 249
lower house seats in September 18 elections.
