Hijjah 15, 1431, Nov 21, 2010, SPA -- The KAUST Catalysis Center (‘KCC') is one of the nine research centers of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. The Center will officially open on December 06, 2010. The objective of KCC is to achieve the best catalytic performance with a strategy purely based on “catalysis by design”. One of the major targets is to achieve sustainability on strategic domains such as CO2 chemistry, photo-dissociation of water, biomass conversion and Fischer Tropsch synthesis. Further strategic domains include: - Homogeneous, heterogenous, bio-catalysis - New reactor design including high throughput - Polymer catalysis - Photocatalysis - In situ atomic-scale characterization - Modelization - Inorganic and organometallic synthesis KCC will be a node for international collaboration with the various universities connected with KAUST.
