Hijjah 13, 1431 / Nov. 19, 2010, SPA -- Director General of Civil Defense authority General Saad bin Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri today confirmed the success of Civil Defense plan for this year's Hajj, saying that pilgrims enjoyed a secure and safe atmosphere during their movements in Hajj areas. Appealing to Allah Almighty to bestow complete health on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Al-Tuwaijri attributed the success of Civil Defense plan to the instructions of the monarch and the giant projects the Kingdom has implemented in Hajj areas, citing the Jamarat throwing multi-floor passages and the express train linking Makkah, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah. He pointed to the drastic reduction in number of complaints or incidents, noting that the expansion of Arafat area has added more than 35% of the total geographical area to the valley which witness the peak of Hajj every year.
