Hijjah 13, 1431, Nov 19, 2010, SPA -- An Indian Air Force helicopter crashed Friday in the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, killing all 12 people aboard, an air force spokesman said. The MI-17 helicopter, carrying 11 air force personnel and an Indian Army officer, crashed soon after taking off from an air base at Tawang, a city in Arunachal Pradesh, wing commander TK Singha was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA." Singha said all passengers and the three crew members died in the crash. The helicopter was on its way to Guwahati in adjoining Assam state. Tawang is located in the eastern Himalayas at a height of 3,600 metres above sea level.
