Hijjah 1431/ Nov 14, SPA-- Vice President of Saudi Commission of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Gabban reasserted the importance of historical and civil aspect of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that the strategic position of the Kingdom among world continents has played, throughout the history, a crucial part in making it a home for several civilizations which flourished within its borders, "to cite some there were the civilizations of Madyan, Thamud in Ula and Al-Ukhdud in Najran" he added. In a lecture delivered recently here, amid the cultural activities of a Saudi antiquities exhibit, he pointed out that Arab Peninsula was an important main commercial route and a passageway for caravans. This facts helped it in establishing relationships with various and different civilizations, he concluded. -- SPA
