Hijjah 02, 1431, Nov 08, 2010, SPA -- The President-General of the Affairs of the Holy Mosque of Makkah and the Holy Mosque of the Prophet in Madinah Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdulrahman Al-Hassin handed over on Sunday Kiswat (Dress) Al-Kaabah to Senior Vice Guardian of the Holy Mosque of Makkah Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Zain Al-Abidin Al-Shaibi as an annual tradition to dress the Holy Kaaba on Dhul-Hijjah 09th. A speech ceremony was held on this occasion. In his speech, The President-General of the Affairs of the Holy Mosque of Makkah and the Holy Mosque of the Prophet in Madinah expressed his thanks to and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier for their attention, care, and support for the Two Holy Mosques. It is noteworthy that the total cost of "Kiswat Al-Kaabah" amounts to more than SR 20 million. It is made of pure natural silk at Al-Kiswat Factory. The height of Kiswat is 14 meters, and the length 47 meters. It is decorated with Islamic decorations.
