Qa'dah 24, 1431, Nov 01, 2010, SPA -- UAE Ambassador to Syria Salim Issa Al-Qattam Al-Za'abi and Syrian Irrigation Minister George Malaki Sawmi held a meeting to discuss aspects of bolstering relations and cooperation between their two countries in irrigation and water resources fields. In remarks at the meeting which was held in his office, the Syrian Minister expressed hopes for full cooperation on irrigation issues with the UAE, adding that the Ministry is prepared to take all necessary steps to further promote relations in this sphere. Sawmi also thanked the UAE for assisting Syria and other Arab countries to boost development and achieve national food security. He expressed Syria's interest in tapping the UAE's experience in irrigation and water resources development, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM." For his part, Al-Za'abi stressed the UAE's keen interest in further promoting relations with Syria based on the realization of their common interests.
