Qa'da 04, Oct 12, 2010, SPA -- Stocks are struggling on Monday , just days after the Dow Jones industrial average rose above 11,000 for the first time since early May. Trading was muted Monday with no major economic or earnings reports out. Traders were looking ahead to more corporate earnings this week. Bond trading was closed for Columbus Day holiday. The Dow Jones industrial average increased 2.11 points, or 0.02 percent, to end unofficially at 11,008.59. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dipped 0.11 of a point, or 0.01 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,165.04. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 0.42 of a point, or 0.02 percent, to close unofficially at 2,402.33. Gold futures for December delivery gained $9.10 to settle at a fresh record high of $1,354.40 an ounce. Light Sweet Crude oil is at $81.90 a barrel, down 0.31 points, or 0.38 percent.
