Qa'dah 03, 1431, Oct 11, SPA -- A 10-year plan to ease traffic congestion and overcrowding in Makkah was discussed at a recent high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Province. It was the third meeting of the Makkah and Holy Sites' Development Commission's Executive Committee, which took place last Saturday and looked into ways to successfully implement the project. The Governor said the plan aims to ease the current congestion and overcrowding for Makkah residents, and pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque, according to a report of "OKAZ" newspaper published today by the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette. "This is in compliance with directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz to have a quick solution for the overcrowding and traffic jams in the city, the Holy Sites and the Central Zone," he added. --MORE
