King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) signed here today two agreements in the fields of Space Geodesy and Aeronautics in addition to a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) in the fields of space and aviation. This came following the opening session of the Saudi International Conference for Space and Aviation which was held here today and organized by KACST in cooperation with NASA. The Conference was attended by a number of international scientists, astronauts and experts specialized in the field of space science and technology. The opening session was inaugurated by KACST President Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel who delivered a speech in which he welcomed Prince Sultan bin Salman, the first Arab Muslim astronaut, and the attendees including NASA Chief Major General Charles Bolden. Dr. Al-Suwaiyel highlighted the care given to KACST by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who is patronizing the Conference. Dr. Al-Suwaiyel also praised the contributions of US President Barack Obama to this field, commending the cooperation among US and Saudi scientific institutions.
