The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its 80th anniversary of the National Day and Unification, which falls on Thursday, September 23rd , 2010. The Kingdom's leadership and people celebrate the anniversary of the Declaration of the late King Abdulaziz (May Allah bless his soul) of the unification of this blessed country under the banner of "There is no God, but Allah, and Mohammad is the Prophet of Allah.'' During the unification stages over 32 years, the late King Abdulaziz laid the foundations of this entity on the guidance of the Holy Quran and the Prophet's (PBUH) Sunnah. King Abdulaziz ensured justice, security and safety during his era. The first Saudi state in 1157H was established by support from Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud for the call of Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab aimed to return to true Islam and correct beliefs, which were marred by suspicion and ignorance and they pledged for cooperation for the return of the society in the Arabian Peninsula to the faith of Islam as it was at the beginning of Islam and according to the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him). They pursued this path to achieve this great objective. The ruling of the first Saudi state ended after approximately 46 years because of foreign intervention. In the year 1240H, the second Saudi State was set up under the leadership of the 2nd Founder Imam Turki bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud, who and his sons after him continued the approach of their ancestors about 68 years until the end of the rule of the second Saudi state in 1308 as a result of internal factors. --More
