Authorities said Romania saved 17 Turkish sailors whose ship began sinking off the Black Sea shore, according to AP. Ion Voicu, an official with a government sea rescue agency, said the sailors were saved early Wednesday. The sailors requested help after their ship, which carries scrap metal, started leaning dangerously on one side. Voicu said authorities tried to help straighten the vessel, but it sank by Wednesday afternoon. The ship, Medi, had sailed from the Romanian port of Constanta overnight after being loaded.
