The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia now has the necessary engineering expertise to effectively expand the Tawaf (circumambulation) area around the Holy Kaaba to reduce overcrowding. This is according to Dr. Thamer Al-Harbi, Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Institute for Hajj Research. Al-Harbi said the institute has the cadres to solve the issue. “We now have several studies that can demonstrate our vision to increase the area's capacity.” Al-Harbi said he was confident in the ability of the institute's researchers because several of their recommendations have already been implemented by the authorities, according to a report of the Arabic Language Newspaper "OKAZ," which was published today by the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette. --MORE
