Prince Sultan Ibn Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) reiterated that SCTA has started the establishment of five new regional museums in Damam, Abha, Hail, Tabouk, and Al-Baha and now working on finalizing studies for re-furbishing and upgrading 6 existent museums in Domat Al Jondal, Tem'a, Al Ula, Al Hafouf, Sebea and Najran. Prince Sultan bin Salman has commended the special cooperation and partnership between Hail province and SCTA in various fields. In this respect, he referred to the great support given to tourism activities and programs in particular and national heritage in general by Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsin, Governor of Hail province and Chairman of the Higher Commission for Hail Development and Hail Tourism Development Council, in addition to the support and interaction of Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad, Vice Governor of Hail province and Deputy Chairman of Hail Tourism Development Council. This came last week during the signing ceremony of cooperation and coordination agreement between SCTA and the Higher Commission of Hail Development related to the execution of development program for Fed Heritage City in Hail. Also, President of SCTA lauded the donation of Eng. Mohammad bin Abdul Lateef of ten million Saudi riyals for establishing the project, saying that it reflected the interaction of businessmen and honest citizens in supporting national heritage projects, which shows their pride of civilization of their country. There is a huge positive shift in the sector of antiquities and museum in the Kingdom, especially in the field of excavation, and archeological discoveries unearthed by specialized Saudi teams in addition to joint efforts with international universities and Saudi researchers engaged in various locations throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President of SCTA concluded.
