The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) has started setting up five new regional museums in Dammam, Abha, Hail, Tabuk, and Al-Baha and is working on finalizing studies for re-furbishing and upgrading six existent museums in Domat Al-Jondal, Tem'a, Al-Ula, Al-Hafoof, Sebea and Najran. Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the SCTA, has commended the special cooperation and partnership between Hail province and his organization in various fields. In this respect, the SCTA chief referred to the great support given to tourism activities and programs in particular and national heritage in general by Prince Saud Bin Abdulmohsin, Emir of Hail province and Chairman of the Higher Commission for Hail Development and Hail Tourism Development Council. He also lauded the support and interaction of Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Saad, Deputy Emir of Hail province and Deputy Chairman of Hail Tourism Development Council. Prince Sultan's comments came last week during the signing ceremony of cooperation and coordination agreement between SCTA and the Higher Commission of Hail Development related to the execution of development program for Fed Heritage City in Hail. Also, the SCTA chief lauded the donation of Mohammed Bin Abdul Lateef of SR10 million for establishing the project, saying that it reflected the interaction of businessmen and honest citizens in supporting national heritage projects and it shows their pride of civilization of their country. There is a huge positive shift in the sector of antiquities and museum in the Kingdom, especially in the field of excavation, and archeological discoveries unearthed by specialized Saudi teams in addition to joint efforts with international universities and Saudi researchers engaged in various locations throughout the Kingdom, Prince Sultan said.
