A truck has slammed into a roadside crowd in east China's Fujian Province, killing 10 people and injuring another two, local authorities said Wednesday. Eight people died instantly when the truck crashed into a group of villagers resting and chatting near a highway in the Xianfeng Village in Shouning County at about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, and two others died in hospital, Xinhua quoted a spokesman with the county government as saying. The two injured people are being treated at a local hospital, he said. Police and work safety authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, he added.
