The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirm its full standing and solidarity with the Republic of Pakistan. Omar Al Obeiday, the Minister plenipotentiary of the Saudi Permanent mission to the United Nation said last night before the UN General Assembly Plenary meeting on considering the humanitarian situation resulting from the flood in Pakistan that as soon as being informed of the disaster, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King ABdullah Ibn Abdulaziz , directed the establishment of an air bridge between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan (that reached to date 22 aircrafts) to send emergency and urgent relief to the people of Pakistan which included food supplies, blankets, electrical generators, tents, water, medical supplies and teams of doctors and muses to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly people of Pakistan. The King directed to launch a popular campaign to support the brotherly people of Pakistan, he said adding that the whole Saudi people responded to the call, as well as the residents and corporations, by providing the needed assistance to the people of Pakistan which exceeded in its entirety, as of today, the amount of (160) million U.S. dollars, in addition to the aid of the plane cargo amounting to 70 million US dollars. on the context of offering assistance, the Kingdom directed, along with the coordination of the United Nations organizations operating in Pakistan, to expedite the disbursement of 100 million dollars previously allocated by the Kingdom for emergency and humanitarian assistance to help those affected by natural disasters in Pakistan, he further said. the Kingdom will not spare any effort to support its sister Pakistan to overcome this difficult ordeal, and what the Kingdom presented, and will present, to its sister Pakistan and all the vulnerable countries reflect the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques that we all are brothers in humanity, he said adding that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia support the draft resolution in document A/64/L.66 entitled "strengthen emergency relief, rehabilitation, reconstruction and prevention in the wake of devastating flood in Pakistan.
